Frederick Calvert |
Frederick Calvert, 6th Lord Baltimore was born February 6, 1731/32, in England. He lived in England and in Europe. He never visited Maryland. His father was Charles Calvert, 5th Lord Baltimore (1699—1751). Frederick was married on March 9, 1753 to Lady Diana Egerton (1732—1758) and was the father of five children.As proprietor, Calvert's private income included taxes enacted by the provincial legislature for his benefit. He owned all unpatented land in Maryland. By 1771 the manor and lands, including 121,000 acres on the western frontier of the province, totaled about 245,000 acres.
He died on September 4, 1771, in Naples, Italy and was burried in England.
